deadner that wont make me have to get a 2nd job

Recommended Posts

well ive done some hard thinking and losts or reading and the jeep i have now is going to be the last car i own until it dies and then ill probably just replace the engine. SO... me saving up and dropping a good about into the deadening for it in order to have a nice quality ride is more of an investment then a cost. im due to get a raise here soon at work and with summer coming ill get more hours, so im preparing to save probably close to 1500 in order to damp pro the whole jeep 80-100% coverage and put luxury liner pro on the doors, floor, fire wall, back hatch and im gonna try the roof. go hard or go home...

Spend thousands on woofers and amps. Freezes up at a few hundred bucks for deadener

I am in that boat right now on this challenger lol.

To the OP, that B-Stock pack from second skin is the best around!

I'll admit, half way through sanding that fiberglass in the rain and cold while I was all itchy I was definitely starting to question why i was doing this haha

im not even gunna read through this. i saw spent thousands on woofers and skimps on deadner lol. its all part of the system. cost it and plan it all out.

me personally, black friday, 30% off second skin damp pro. i buy some every year.

i wouldnt run anything else. second skin is second to none. they should be called first skin or best skin.

I'll probably get hosed for this...so, first off, I will say that in my personal opinion, Second Skin does make the best products available...that being said...

http://www.ebay.com/itm/FATMAT-100-SqFt-No-Logo-Sound-Deadener-For-Cars-Trucks-Free-Dynamat-Sample-120996984813?hash=item1c2bfb77ed&vxp=mtr

300 bucks can get you 200 sq ft ...not the best stuff, but descent if doubled up! just trying to help!

It's a shitty product and shouldn't be supported.

With the second skin you only need 25% coverage for a lot of situations.

Only 25% for road noise and all that?

Read the link below, CLD tiles aren't used for road noise.

There is more to making a car quiet than cld.

I assume OP, you haven't read anything posted on this website.

By the way, for bang for buck this sounddeadener and SS is the best.

100% coverage with CLD tiles isn't necessary, 25-50% coverage is more then enough. Next cover every part where you don't want sound coming through with a mass loaded vinyl, like luxury liner pro.

I explored a similar problem..

I wanted deadener that was affordable yet didnt break the bank..

Here is what I found..

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B005JRZPMM/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_c0Rsvb0DGA81N

Take a look at my video.

I've had this installed for about 2 weeks no complaints yet... Will be buying more

It comes on a roll, it's useless to be used as a deadener.

I don't see why anyone would think that?

I compared it to dynamat Extream and I'd buy more of that stuff before I buy anymore dynamat.

Get a piece of second skin and compare it to that.

Part of deadening is stiffening the panel with the aluminum layer and if it's so flexible it can be tightly rolled it won't be doing much for you in that aspect.

It may however be heavy enough to help lower the fs of panels you are applying it too.

That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals.

How did you compare it?

If you roll the foil up, it loses a lot of it's strength and when you unroll it, the foil won't be properly attached to the butyl anymore. Thus providing bad deadening.
