EricM9104
results from the sundowns... Test Vehicle.. mine.. 05 aveo.. RMS clamp and dmm, as seen in the 12" test session.. This testing includes recent results, and not so recent.. woofers used.. 2 Mags (1.9 dcr per coil), 2 FI Q 12's (1.4 dcr per coil) either used 1 sub or both of the pair for loads.. pure 60hz sine was used to tested.. just under audible clipping 1 amp, single 1000ca everstart maxx, factory alt 4 ohm nominal = 518 watts @ 88% efficiency (voltage fell from 14.3v, to 14.0v) 2 ohm nominal = 948 watts @ 85% efficiency (voltage fell from 14.3v, to 13.6v) 1 ohm nominal = 1510 watts @ 78% efficiency (voltage fell from 14.3v, to 12.4 volts .5 ohm nominal = 1615 watts @ 72% efficiency (voltage fell from 14.3v, to 11.8v) .35 ohm nominal = 1748 watts @ 67% efficiency (voltage fell from 14.3v, to 11.4v) amplifier was protection happy @ .35 with tones, and some music. IMO.. one 1500d should be limited to 1 ohm nominal use in factory electrical systems.. for the sake of the car.. not the amp now... to have fun with some juice.. 1 amp, single 1000ca everstart maxx, 1 Eagle Picher 12a5000, factory alt 4 ohm nominal = 520 watts @ 88% efficiency (voltage fell from 14.3v, to 14.1v) 2 ohm nominal = 960 watts @ 84% efficiency (voltage fell from 14.3v, to 13.7v) 1 ohm nominal = 1635 watts @ 75% efficiency (voltage fell from 14.3v, to 12.8 volts .5 ohm nominal = 1890 watts @ 71% efficiency (voltage fell from 14.3v, to 12.8v) .35 ohm nominal = 2245 watts @ 65% efficiency (voltage fell from 14.3v, to 12.8v) from here: http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/i...?showtopic=7116 Edited April 8, 2008 by emat19876 Quote 2015 Honda Civic LX 4dr | 24k miles Stock H/U and mids/highs Power Acoustik GW3-12" D2 Sub HiFonics BXX1200.1D @ 1ohm Random 2.5^3' dual ported box NVX LOC Stinger wiring throughout 1977 Chevy SWB Cammed 350 Dual exhaust Cheap Wish stereo
LoudBlazer
ah so RF uses it for you to buy their products . I can get a blown T2 that made over 2k at 2ohms but i dont know how much a repair would cost from RF. Any ideas? Gq85
I personally don't know. I'm pretty sure someone in here does though. You could always give RF a call and find out.

Derrick824
If you're skeptical about running @ 0.5ohm then I recommend checking out something like a Kicker zx1500. Near all Kicker amps make max power @ 2ohms so its perfect for your setup. http://cgi.ebay.com/KICKER-ZX1500-1-MONO-C...7QQcmdZViewItem
banginAltima
... and make sure your amp can do .5 ohms. Quote If you build it, db's will come... Boon
Either that or wire your subs for a 2 ohm load and get 2 strappable amps of around 1000w each - the load is split when strapping so the amps see 1 ohm each Quote 10.x volts fo' life! andym85
i dont know why people feel like they need to run stuff at .5 ohm and risk something bad happening....i say either get two amps that are one ohm stable or one amp that does the power you want at 2 ohms Quote i likes me some audio stuff... LoudBlazer
I like the idea of a good 2ohm stable amp. I think im gonna check out the ZX 1500 and 2500. Im to worried about avaliable power and running an amp so low. Derrick just has mad skills and can run his sundowns at .5 if he truely is wink wink lol Quote 1997 2 Door Blazer Bagged & Body Dropped SBC/TH350
