kingsuv
I'd suggest a quick little shake down weekend. You would be surprised at the shit you forget in the 1st couple trips out. Sucks to make a long haul out to a spot to spend the 1st half of the trip lookin for a target or a camping supply shop. 1 Quote Designing, building, and shipping boxes. I mean the first minute is ok but that thing just really starts digging deeper and deeper in your earhole till you cant stand it no more. Seems like it does it with relative ease....16 12's on 8 amps.........gotta love it.
 987 10.2k

meade916
well i was going to start an entire new thread but i sort of already had one in another section of this forum. I decided this one isn't too cluttered to continue on and use this for any mods i do. I will do a UBL post if it gets hectic and i do a lot more. Right now, i just did my first real mod. Took out the standard group 24 battery and SHITTY factory wiring, replaced them with something worthy. For the most part, the generator will be doing most of the work. I really only wanted extra reserve capacity simply because i have a few items that need to be on all the time and not get cut off when the generator goes down. For instance, if i shut the generator off to go for a ride. When i do so, all outlets die too. That means my microwave clock always flashes 12:00. That means my satellite dish needs to be re-initialized again (a 15 minute process) before we got TV again. Iphones etc. Anyhow, i will probably add a separate power inverter (and install it permanently) in the trailer so i can achieve my goal. Also, I noticed that the factory battery was getting the worlds SHITTIEST charge, if any at all from the trailer plug. I was under the impression the battery would get alternator power and stay fresh on a long trip to the camp site. I was wrong. It is WEAK sauce. So i got some 1/0 Anderson connectors and also hooked them into the bank. I plan to run a wire from the F150's Alternator (will be upgraded soon too) to the back of the truck where it will plug in and get me that solid 14.6v i am looking for. I am running 1/0 cable because it is a long run and i know once i upgrade the alternator, it will be taking on some of the responsibility for the sound system and electronics i plan on installing soon. So that's the plan. Here are the pics. BTW somethin'.....being able to park this in my shop is a dream come true!! It is safe from UV rays, Thieves and extra storage fee's. I also just obtained the worlds BESTEST new shop break room haha...I am plugged into the wall and it is a full on chill spot in it's down time. The factory battery is smaller but with it's case it fits in the factory battery rack perfectly. The XP3000's though BARELY spanned the gap. So i welded in a new piece of angle iron to make a new tray. The wiring is terrible. The only ugly wire on this battery that i had anything to do with is the one small wire with yellow crimp terminal. That was ALWAYS temporary because i knew i was going to redo all this stuff. I did that literally while i was packing for my camping trip. It is nice now, as is the rest of the shitty factory wiring. NICE! Propane tanks removed so i can get to the rack a lot easier Lets modify the new rack a little bit. It's welded in 3 places (left right and center) I have that on video just no pics. 1 Quote All SMD products available here! http://www.wccaraudio.com Subscribe to My Youtube Channel! meade916
Ahhh now they fit like a glove! No falling through! Time to make some tabs for the hold down's. Always do a coat of black to keep rust off. Didn't have room for the bottom pieces of these XS Power hold-downs...but no problem! I made it work! Their wiring, MY wiring (the replacement). I replaced all their ugly wires and or the end terminals that i could see. This is a "before" and an "after". Using Sky High 4ga. 2 Quote All SMD products available here! http://www.wccaraudio.com Subscribe to My Youtube Channel! Over 700,000 subscribers strong! meade916
NICE FACTORY WIRING JOB. Good thing i didn't pay MSRP for my trailer now did i HAVE to use SkyHigh 2/0 wiring? nahh. I think 4ga would have been fine. But 2/0 is so gorgeous and i have a lot of it. So i used it It is a long run to the front of the F150 so i decided 1/0 would be best. Especially if i end up running the RV off of the alternator at some point which i will at times. I didn't have any red Sky High 1/0 so i used XS Power OFC. I really wanted it to match but i think it still looks good anyway. These 1/0 Anderson plugs are EXPENSIVE. Remind me not to use them in too many projects. Damn! This is like a $45 dollar union here! fuck all that! 5 Quote All SMD products available here! http://www.wccaraudio.com Subscribe to My Youtube Channel! Over 700,000 subscribers strong! meade916
oh...Why did i choose XS Power XP3000? because i had 3 extra's laying around after i re-did my AD-1 Test bench. Free is always good! even though i already bought them it still feels free because it's been a few years Oh, and yes, i plan on someday making a cover of some sort. No rush, this thing won't see anything but wind and very minimal rain. Water won't hurt these batteries anyway other than the labels. But yes, i do want to fab a cover of some sort. next mission, running the wire for the F150! Then decide on amps, speakers etc! 1 Quote All SMD products available here! http://www.wccaraudio.com Subscribe to My Youtube Channel! Over 700,000 subscribers strong!
