No i actually have quite considerable knowledge of enclosures and such.... Yeah, for some reason those two posts don't seem to go together.... I see...wouldn't this still cause a problem with pressure though? Fun fact, pressures are higher in ported boxes than sealed. Your sealed box does need to be the right size to get optimal performance though. How did you arrive at your 2.9 cubes number? Do you have any specs on those speakers? There is no way 10 of those equals five 12"s, not even close. And no unfortunately i dnt have any specs on them let alone ts parameters. Otherwise i wouldnt be asking opinions. And by pressure, i mean when a sub flexing inwards from its resting place, it will displace air backwards into the enclosure causing pressure, which will limit the excursion of a sub. How do you know a ported enclosure causes more pressure? Because a sub is allowed more freedom and excursion in a ported box vs. Sealed, because of the ability of the air being pushed out the port. I dunno but he got 99 problems reading aint the only one. Two 6" subs does not equal one 12", it takes roughly four 6" subs to equal one 12". This is about area, not diameter. Thats assuming both sizes would have the same Xmax as well, which they most likely would not. No a sub is not allow more freedom and excursion in a ported box. Ported boxes have less excursion than sealed boxes (at least above tuning, you don't want to be playing much below tuning). The air in the port acts as a spring which puts more load on the cone and increases the pressure of the box. Without any T/S parameters, you are going to be guessing on what to do with those speakers. Like others have said, most likely the best thing to do would be to put them in as large as box as you can fit since they are intended for IB use. They may not go as low as 12s, but according to simple geometry, they should have similar output. Thanks for the input though, ill give it a whirl!
