What kind of 6.5" mids are those?

Focal 165-S I believe they're normally part of a set but I was able to purchase just 4 of these.

They will look awesome in my doors aswell which is a plus.

Been looking around at 8" mid woofers too but that would require another amp.. also need something to fill the empty space in my center dash.. I took the cover off and there's a speaker mount but no speaker lol. If anything ill probably just put a couple tweeters in there facing up and to each side, rather than modifying my pillar.

But here's a quick vid, haven't got a good one yet.

BTW anyone have a solution to loud sunroofs? A solution that isnt permanent and ill still be able to use it I should say.

Ive tried sticking a bunch of foam around the edges on the inside but that does not help and it gets drenched so ill probably have to get rid of it before it gets smelly..

Not sure if it was like that before but my sunroof now moves easy.. I think im gonna have to deaden the roof lol..

Also anyone experienced with active mids and highs setups including wiring, send me a pm, just got a few questions.

my sunroof just got so fucked up that it worked its bolts on the rails loose. You could tighten them and 3 days later, 2 inches of vertical movement with just your hands. Just learned to ignore it and not drive in the rain, oh and park under a carport.

If it's like mine, you should be able to put it in the "vent" mode to tighten the slider bolts from the inside and the bolts to the actual sunroof from the outside of the car.

I'll have to check it out. But it has a catch right under all the sides so whatever leaks doesn't actually come inside. Lol if that were the case it'd already be sealed up.

Well, im in the process of moving 1100 Miles.

I should end up staying only a couple miles from the Gulf, down in Mississippi.

But I also ended up in my parents neck of the woods for a couple weeks, meaning I have a garage to work in :)
I might be trying a box design, that I never see so it will be unique. Just how its built, nothing special.. I already have to build it inside my trunk lol.

Also, im being very precise, as in some say wood is .75, when its actually .727", stuff like that, i'm looking for everything to just be accurate as hell and solid.
But here's a few pics, in the process of selling my other stuff, looking to get big of an amp as I can.
20151125_132606.jpg

Up to 220AH now.. Another battery or bat cap banks next?
20151106_153136.jpg
Just some comparison pics lmao, Zv4 12s vs HDS300 12s

Thankfully the other sub didn't have any faults, but this one the dustcap was broke and half the spider was unattached, I was hoping the coil didnt get damaged and they read fine, but I taped and glued it up to see where it left me at and it looks like I can get away with just ordering a new dustcap because they play just fine.

And I also said my goodbyes to Lake Michigan..

Feel free to comment, peeps.

Well.. I have done A LOT since I last posted.. Complete rebuild, put in alot of work, leave some feedback.

2 Zv4 12s

5.4ish cf box before wood brace and 45s displacements which I still need to figure out.. @ 32hz, 45s all around, SOLID oak braces, and all covered with fiberglass. Had to build in the trunk obviously, its about 40w, 16.7h, and 21d. I also went with maple :) front baffle is birch.

B2 Zero.1

some new tweets still working on front stage.. 3" / 1"

Reran mids/highs wiring and added tweeters to the empty space in my center dash and soldered all wire splits on the way.

Ran alternator ground to the trunk =/ and added the blockshakers 110ah battery, voltage does just fine I thought I might need more but this amp is great.

Sealed off once again.

Used up the rest of my 120mil sky high sound deadener on the roof, little more going into the trunk and more on the rear deck, tried some spray stuff in the doors when I put in my focal mids.

30+ pics incoming.. and its loud as hell I just drove 18 hours to Mississippi went thru like 400 new songs and my ears hurt for a week.. I was kinda worried.. I need to find a show near south Mississippi. Seems loudest around 31/33, and I watched it dance at 20hz lmao, becomes more bearable in the 40s. But enough ramble.

20151203_160421.jpg?1451801758242&145180

Below: Added some padding and got rid of the metal look as if u can even see it now a days, wish I got a pic before I added the rest.

20151210_002818.jpg?1451801758242&145180

Little extra work on the edges helped the box come together nice and secure.

20151205_235922.jpg?1451801758242&145180

20151206_000952.jpg?1451801758242&145180

Test fit, success.
20151206_185821.jpg?1451801758242&145180

Some solid oak braces.

20151211_223530.jpg?1451801758242&145180

Had to figure out the special order in which pieces could still fit. Luckily later on I was able to push the box far back as possible and at a slight certain angle and barely get out the baffle to pretty it up.

20151210_211426.jpg?1451801758242&145180

Went well, worked out great because pushing it all the way forward allowed the back piece to barely fit.
20151210_211352.jpg?1451801758242&145180

20151211_220554.jpg?1451801758242&145180

Finally done with the major wood working.. and was time to have my first go at fiberglassing.

20151212_224616.jpg?1451801758242&145180

More to come tomorrrow.
