reedal Posted May 24, 2015 Report Posted May 24, 2015 I can wire my two subs to 8ohms, and find an amp (or two) that puts out 2400W at that ohm load. Or I can not use my gain on the amplifier and wire to .5 and still not have an issue with my subs. Who knows how he is wired to that amp. Did he have a true RMS meter or AMM-1 to show that he was pushing a true 16k to two 4500RMS subs? Mike Gann Posted May 27, 2015 Report Posted May 27, 2015 I'm not expert on the matter but I'm gonna go out on a limb here to try to get you an answer, he was probably running the 2ohm DVC of those subs at 4ohm which would supply 6k watts to their 4500rms. If you look percentage wise thats about a third more power then rated, just tune correctly and I can see it being done.
