Hey

i got about 4-5 cubes gross space to work with, trying to get the most output and bass impact (hard hitting like being punched in the chest and head type stuff)

for the sundown brand, what would get more output and hit harder?

2 SA 12s ported

3 SA 10s ported

1 zv3 15 ported or in a 4th order??

i believe all these set ups can work in 5 cubes gross or less and with 2200 watts or less..

NOTE: i am not after super low bass , im more after 35hz and above, so im not sure which drivers are more suited for that.

This is not a vs thread btw because im comparing models of the same brand.. but if anyone has any other recommendations /brands that would give more output in the space i listed please let me know.

This box will need to be built INSIDE my car so once its built and the subs in there, thats it. theres no going back. i am losing the convenience of taking the box inside and out of the car so i need to make sure i select the right sub(s) the first time because i only got one chance.

thanks

I'm always a fan of one GOOD sub vs multiple subs, but in this case, I say go with two twelves. Three tens might need a bigger box than five cubes and two twelves would be sitting just fine.

I have a fifteen and it can definitely hit you in the chest, but I don't know if I would describe it as tight and punchy when pushed to the limits.

ya i heard that as well , that 15s dont react as fast as 10s and 12s, but then i heard thats a myth and its all about the quality of the sub..

another issue with running a 15, the zv3 15 in a 4th order would be real heavy in my coupe and would make the car sag and run sluggish with all that weight in the trunk.. plus im already lowered flush.. i would start rubbing with all that weight.

the attractive thing to me about the zv3 15 is that it excels in playing the mid and higher bass frequencies better and most of my music is in the upper 30s +

if the sa 12s can play the higher freqs real well and real loud (35hz and up) then i think im gonna get them instead of the 15, plus they weigh less and i dont need to build a huge 4th order for them which will bring down the weight even more.

2 sa 12s.

im assuming u have heard 2 sa 12s vs the zv3 or zv4 15 before? can u explain why u choose 2 sa 12s over 1 zv3 15? thanks

You.dont have enough room for a zv3 in a 4th or a zv4 ported. If.you.have 4-5 cubes gross. You'll barely have enough room for 2 12s.

my sundown dealer said he can build a 4th for a zv3 15inch in 5-5.5 cubes gross if he builds it inside my trunk. He also said and the sundown site also says a zv3 15 needs 3 cubes ported and a 12 even less.. so i can do that as well..

but yes u are right the 4th will be a challenge and tight but he said its doable.

so considering its doable - would u still say the 2 sa 12s would have more output than the 1 15?
