Question about your fuse holders

take everything off the stud (even the last nut)... then ring terminal, fuse, washer, nut-

also after it's crimped it will be slightly smaller...

can we stop suggesting this now?

theres still a nut under the terminal??? but i'll stop trying to help-

if that nut isnt there the stud will spin.

Maybe you were sent the wrong size..? I don't know. I use the set screw holders

Is that the 1/0 or 2/0 lug?

Once the lug is crimped the lug can be bent to fit without issue, some of the holders weren't designed very well and need a tad bit of fixing to make em work.

kinda what i figured. I am gonna crimp, but was just curious. Not going to name drop but with other terminals and lugs i had no clearance issues. First time i seen this.

Its a generic fuse holder that everyone uses and slaps their name on, its not sky highs fault.

These where also not meant to be used with thick lugs, but your typical ring terminals.

If you take the bottom nut off and go washer, ring terminal, nut, washer, fuse, washer, nut it will fit.

It is just a bolt that runs through plastic. It is either molded to the shape of the plastic so it wont spin, or there is a little black circular cap that pops off under each post//bolt and you can than attach a socket so the nut can be tightened back up.

After all, it had to have been done that way one it was built or how else would you get that nut on if it would just spin and spin.

Or you can just grind off the ends of the clear plastic piece, which I had to do when using them with 4/0.

well, if i take the little bastard off, wont the lug will be sitting on plastic when i do that also, here is that plastic lip around the base that is going to get in the way. seems sketchy.

Id put the washer under the lug so its not on plastic and then tighten that bottom nut back down.

That bolt goes through to the bottom, there should be a black plastic cap under each bolt that you can pry off to gain access to the bolt head.

Wish I would of took a picture but they are the same as this style that I had beak on me from wrenching on them too hard.

Remove the cap, get access to the hole, put new screw in it and fixed.
