4 8's In A Ported Box (tuning The Port)

Ok, i have 4 8inch MA Audio subs. Im building a box and i want it to be ported. The dimensions are gunna be 40"wide, 14.75" tall, and 20" deep. Idk how big my port needs to be, any help? idk what i should tune it to.. 32? 36?

5 cubes of air for 4 8's? i dno...but to me that sounds kinda big? not sure really...havent played around with 8's

but either way...4" tall, 5" wide, 7" long tunes it to 32 hz. 4.5" long tunes it to 36.4 hz

i happened to write down your external dimensions before leaving for class and drew this up blind:

its 1.25cuft per chamber 3" aero @40hz

yeah 5 cu^ft is big, go like 3cu^ft tuned like 38hz. good luck

i wouldnt tune 8s below 40hz. 8s arent exactly meant to be low 'bass' producing subs(dont get me wrong, some can)

How does the SIZE of the driver have anything to do with the freq response?

I would do 50sq in of vent tuned to 35-36hz 3cuft after.
