Very strange battery issue

Recommended Posts

This happened in the matter of a week. I have 2 batteries and this only happened on the ground of 1 battery. I have 4 frame grounds and none of the connections are loose. Battery rests at 12.94. Any ideas as to why it happened?

Is the battery out gassing?

I think that only happens when the gas mixes with water and causes the build up of corrosion on the negative posts.

I may be wrong but i have not seen it happen on agm like i do on lead acid batteries.

EDIT: Is the top of the battery cracked anywhere?

Does the vehicle have a leak around were the battery sets at?

Just looking at that copper bus bar shows it like something has spilled on it and caused it to corrode.

i would pull the battery and really look it over for any possible signs of cracks in the outer case.

There is a hole cut in my floor for the 8 runs of wire to come through but this battery is the one further away from the hole. I found a tinyyyyyyy pin hole in the corner but I'm not sure if it goes all the way through the plastic. I'm sure it does because that's just my luck
