Question of the Day: ever roll with house gear (stereo) hooked up in your car?

Recommended Posts

Back in the day me and my homie hooked up 4 pro studio 15's and had them in the back of his single cab Chevy running off an alpine V12. We were setting off car alarms 3 streets over LOL!

Put a pair of 3 way cerwin vega towers in the trunk of my papas malibu off an ssl amp back in 08-09. Shit hit like crazy lol. Didn't have an aftermarket radio in it so I jury rigged up about 15ft of cable to hook my phone to the amp

Probably the most questionable thing I ever did was I bought some 6x9's out of JC Whiney with 100 oz magnets. Monster of a speaker for like 91, I think was. Anyway, I didn't know anything about speaker boxes then so I just slapped a wooden top on a glass fish tank and siliconed it down. Sounded pretty good for what I knew at the time.

It was a year or so later I built a proper box to house 2 kicker 8's, and then continued to build things at least somewhat proper as I got older.

I had a 1993 Nissan Sentra in high school popped my Pioneers. I put a fisher 15 in a "custom" vented box I made i n wood shop. This is soo embarrassing lol by custom I mean box was made of 3/4 mdf and 4 layer plywood due to lack of supplies. The best part was the port which was just my name curved out with a router smh. You heard the buzz of the plywood more then the woofer...

lol, two sony towers with dual 10" in each cabinet. one of the subs turned out to be a passive radiator and the box was ported. Sounded good playing boys in the hood. 180 watt Sherwood amp powering them. the year was 1993, the car a turbo'd subaru
