guttagfx Posted July 20, 2015 Report Posted July 20, 2015 Hi, im new to this forum. My name is Alonso. I want to make a custom box for my 93 regular cab chevy. Due to the limited space between the buckets i think its best to go with 1x 12" sub. If i post the model and specs of the subwoofer i want and the space between my seats i have to work with can someone design me a box? I dont know the first thing about using software (term lab etc.) and about tuning. I have done some research and i think somewhere between 30hz-37hz is ok? Please correct me if im wrong. I would just like the design and i will build it myself i have all the tools and good at building things. Any help is appreciated and im willing to pay for your time and design.
Carnines Posted July 20, 2015 Report Posted July 20, 2015 In my opinion it'd be better to go for 2 10s or 4 8s under the seats.
guttagfx Posted July 20, 2015 Author Report Posted July 20, 2015 2 10s sounds good to me if someone can design me a box that will fit between the seats. If someone is up for the job let me know and ill reply with dimensions and pictures
Deeznutz Posted July 20, 2015 Report Posted July 20, 2015 Sort of vague information. Go ahead and post up the model vehicle, as well the the dimensions you have in between the seats to work with, and the model subs you want to use. Last year, I built a 2.50 cf enclosure for 2 RF HX2 12's for my girlfriend's son 2000 Dodge Ram 1500. Fit snug end to end. IIRC 61 1/4" wide x 20" tall x 9" deep on the bottom. ( I can be off by an inch or so). He's 6'1", the subs had about 1-1 1/4" clearance to the back of the seat. Definitely post up more information. -Frank
reedal Posted July 20, 2015 Report Posted July 20, 2015 More info. Actual dimensions, power running the subs, music you listen to, what subs you will be using. Miguels Posted July 20, 2015 Report Posted July 20, 2015 You can put 2 12's in the back. Sealed box though and shallow subs Or regular subs. You can do a 15 in the center console if you don't have a bench seat Guys it's a 93 Chevy single cab. I own a 94 and 98 has one bit it's newer. Cable guy has one too my logshttp://www.stevemead...-my-new-set-up/my blow through loghttp://www.stevemead...future-updates/ 96 ss http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/164094-96-impala-ss-build/

You need to post what woofer and amplifier you are using, max dims for a box and music you listen to, if you don't have a woofer, based on your space you can receive suggestions on what to get.
guttagfx Posted July 20, 2015 Author Report Posted July 20, 2015 Thanks for the fast replies, i will post pictures, and information on space, and as far as the speakers i wanted to go with one 12" sundown 2ohm, but i dont know if i have enough space for it. Id like to build a center console type box in between the seats vs. one behind the seats, but i will take any suggestions. Pics and info will be here in less then 1 hour. Thanks again
guttagfx Posted July 20, 2015 Author Report Posted July 20, 2015 As you can see from the pictures i can go either a box behind the seats like the one the guy posted here earlier. Or a custom center console box which i prefer. I would like peoples suggestions. My budget for subwoofer(s) is $300 / amp 1ch class D preferred $200 or. I listen mainly to rap/hip hop and ocasionally rock. (20%spanish) (70%rap/hiphop) (10%rock) I originally wanted the sundown sa12d4 and a good amp, but that may be overkill for this small truck and i am open to opinions and other peoples experience. Main reason i preffer the center console is to use it as an armrest as well and cup holder. As for space: Between the Driver and Passenger seats there is 12" from edge of seat to other edge of seat. so i think 11" wide would be ideal so it can be easy to install/uninstall. And from back wall(cab) to about under the stereo i think 40" is ideal for easy install/uninstall. but i wouldnt mind if it was custom shaped to follow the contour of the dashboard as you can see in my vision design...
