Tmendoza9908 Posted August 23, 2015 Report Posted August 23, 2015 Im new to the forum and was looking for help on a system setup. Ive been doing alot of research. My car is a 2008 mazda 3 2.0 and the stock alternator is rated to 110 amps. The system i want to go with is 2 dc audio level 4 12s, and a hifonics zues 3200 watt ampflier. I was going to run the system at 2ohms so a output of 1600w. I was planning on a xs power d1200 to replace my stock battery, a big 3 upgrade, and a nvx 10 farad capacitor. My question was would my stock alternator and upgraded battery setup be able to handle this? Ive looked for high outputs everywhere and cant find any for my car. Please help ive done tons of research and cant find an answer.
RainStryke Posted August 23, 2015 Report Posted August 23, 2015 Have you bought that amplifier yet? What companies did you check with for a alternator for your vehicle?
Tmendoza9908 Posted August 23, 2015 Author Report Posted August 23, 2015 I have not purchased any of the equipment yet. I like to research everything before i make a purchase. Ive looked at mechman and dc power.
03silvergt Posted August 23, 2015 Report Posted August 23, 2015 Dont get the capacitor, just get another battery for the rear. 2017 Chevrolet Silverado LT CC - Will be running 2-3 DC Audion M3 8s, unsure of amp, Mechman 320 amp alt. 2005 Ford F150 - Bagged on 24s, fully shaved, raised bed floor.
rockFord_Expedition Posted August 23, 2015 Report Posted August 23, 2015 You won't get full potential out of your listed setup with your stock alternator. What about a mids/highs amp? Your demand will be higher than the supply, that never ends good. Old School/New School RF Build March 2015 SOTM Winner How to crimp large wire
Tmendoza9908 Posted August 23, 2015 Author Report Posted August 23, 2015 I can get a alternator custom made at excessive amperage but it will probably be pricey but worth it. What size should i go with?
Mr DeeBeez Posted August 23, 2015 Report Posted August 23, 2015 For an alternator, I would go with the biggest you can afford. But also pay attention for what the alt will put out at idle. rockFord_Expedition Posted August 23, 2015 Report Posted August 23, 2015 There are 3 brands of alternator I would go with. Neither of them has been mentioned in this thread If youre going to spend the money, go hairpin or GFY. Old School/New School RF Build March 2015 SOTM Winner How to crimp large wire
Tmendoza9908 Posted August 23, 2015 Author Report Posted August 23, 2015 I havnt contacted singer. Ive looked all over for a alternator for my car and havnt had any luck. Thats why i opted for excessive energy becuase he does custom fits and does really nice work from what ive been reading.
