Looking for some guidance - New system and lights dim

My car setup

ipad -> pure i20 -> audison bit ten -> audison sr4 -> hertz energy components + audison sr1dk -> (2)hertz hi-energy 250d 10

Issue

my internal lights dim, bad. The shop that did the installation said this might happen and that a new battery was in order. They don't carry xs power batteries so I called another local shop that does. The other shop said that a battery might be a "band- aid" and before ordering a battery I should get everything checked over. I should say the shop that did the install is a good, well known, shop that has been in numerous magazines and won numerous awards. So I trust them with the installation. But maybe I shouldn't? With this setup is a new battery a no brainer? Looking for guidance on what to do. Trust the install, get a battery and that should be good. (if so what batter is recommended?) Take it back to the shop and ask wtf is going on.

Thanks for any input.

Did they put a bigger power wire from the battery + to the factory fuse block? I did this and it helped also want to upgrade the battery - to the frame, you could also add another run of 1/0 from alt + to battery +

I changed my battery in my Dodge Magnum R/T to agm and it still dimmed so battery swap is not the solution...

they did not. they just did the install. My battery is in my trunk, factory location from Dodge, and I would imagine that my fuse box in up front under the hood so I wouldn't want to do this myself. Kinda pisses me off that I pay over 3k for bit ten and subs and this is happening, you would think that they would have accounted for this during the install. Anyway ... back on topic. When you say add another you mean battery correct? With running two batteries I would I need a bigger alternator?

Thanks

You need to get bigger wires that feed the power between the alternator, battery and factory grounds. That will help eliminate the dimming.

I'll admit, half way through sanding that fiberglass in the rain and cold while I was all itchy I was definitely starting to question why i was doing this haha

How many RMS watts are the amplifiers in your set up now. You could have not enough amps available at idle from the factory alternator, and not enough battery to buffer the voltage drops. Our 240 AMP unit will tend to make 120+ AMP at idle in your car. I would also recommend that all of your grounds are done with cable. Simply put a steel frame/ unitbody is not the best for transferring electricity. Cable has one purpose..........transfer of voltage and amperage.

Feel free to email me at [email protected] if you need any other help.

Thanks,

Chris
