Carnines Posted September 13, 2015 Report Posted September 13, 2015 http://www.electronbeam.com/ Would Eb Flex 1/0 welding cable be a viable option compared to car audio labeled cable? I wouldn't mind saving 200 bucks in wire if it worked just as well.

Broke_Audio_Addict Posted September 14, 2015 Report Posted September 14, 2015 Oxygen content really only has a impact on corrosion resistance, conductivity is the almost the same in ofc vs Plain old copper(within 1%) That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals.

TaylorFade Posted September 14, 2015 Report Posted September 14, 2015 Most welding cable is "ETP" The most popular form of pure copper is the standard electrical wire grade of copper (C11000) contains 99.95% Cu, 0.03% O2, and less than 50 ppm metallic impurities. It has a high electrical conductivity, in excess of 100% IACS. In the as cast form it is called electrolytic tough pitch (ETP) copper. IIRC... it has to be < 0.001% to be classified as "oxygen free". But it should be noted that C10200 copper (OF) isn't any more conductive than ETP. And even the most pure magic fairy dust C10100 that is 99.99% pure copper is *only* 1% more conductive.

TaylorFade Posted September 14, 2015 Report Posted September 14, 2015 Oxygen content really only has a impact on corrosion resistance, I can't find any evidence of this. Can you cite your source? Oxygen is purposely injected during smelting to scavenge impurities.
