In Bill's case, he put the wire in, heat shrinked it, and then you put it in the amp and tighten it down, and when you tighten the set screw, as Will said, it crimps down exactly where it needs to. If I recall correctly, I think one end has a lip on it, I know the copper ones at Depot or Lowes do anyway. You can put the heat shrink over that lip, and when you shrink it down, it should keep it from sliding out. So I will be crimping the smaller gauge here on out. I order mine from http://www.ferrulesdirect.com/ Measure the diameter you want to fit in, and the depth you want to cover.
