I would have said more voltage would almost always make more power since non-regulated PSU amps lose power under 14v and some amps are designed to operate on 14,16 or 18vdc. only a regulated PSU amp wouldn't gain since they pretty much regulate all power to a steady 12vdc... I either read this test wrong or it is worded goofy to stop adam and jaimey from contacting their lawyers... lol i have heard plenty of people try to say you can't gain from going up to 15+v on a 12v battery. Has nothing to do with having a 16v battery charging at 19v. I am talking 12v battery with a little extra voltage. so yes, you "read it wrong" lol That size alt, with that pull/demand, your basically running at 15plus volt. The 12v bat is doing nothing. You could remove the battery, and still see the gain.Staying 15v plus when drawing 1300amp, well, i dont think a knob will do much. Im wondering if now, a billion members are thinking "hell, i dont need a alt, ill just dial up the amperage. That said, dialing it up a bit, in this situation, worked. Regardless, it shows you can get an increase if you stay in your play zone (while adding the extra voltage), which this system clearly still is. Don't worry, we will surpass the alternator supply soon with something it can't keep up with He already wants to go bigger. And i get what your doing. If you up the demand, and STAY in that "zone", then its hulk smash time. I get it boss. What i dont think, is the fact that there is 400k people reading this, that thinks "hell, i can just roll a knob up, and run 10k on my volkswagen 44amp alt !!!!!!!! " if ya feel me. But, facts are facts.... that, you wanna make power, it takes power. Picture yourself a shop owner and you just sold someone a 1/0 wire kit because he came in with some 8ga on his 2,000 watt amp. Clearly the upgrade is worth it, especially when you see right on the screen the gains that were made. Instead of that kid buying another amp because it wasn't "loud enough for him" (and wired incorrectly again), now your power wire upgrade may have gained him an extra couple hundred or more watts. Maybe you sell him a better battery...he gains 75 watts (at least with the car off). You can prove your gains and the sale you just made was LEGIT by using the AMM-1 to confirm it. I want people to see that it's good to at least attempt to do it the right way.
