Ahmed Johnson Posted November 8, 2015 Report Share Posted November 8, 2015 I loved east coast rap growing up because of how descriptive they were. I liked how they rapped movies and shit. I liked some west coast (mainly the hip groups like Souls of mischief and Pharcyde) but they do talk a lot of gangster shit that really only the west coast can get down with. Plus, Chicago had a lot of gangster rap I was listening to and since I knew the scene it was more for me than west coast. Down south in the 90's reminded me a lot of Chicago/midwest rap style, just slower. Mainly in the 90's it was Chicago/Midwest and east coast gangster rap for me.
