As the title says. It's time to upgrade the mids and highs in my bimmer. I want to utilize stock locations and sizes. I listen to everything from decaf to black metal and everything in between. Sub stage is 2 XFL1244s in an AB spec SPL box run by a ph4000md, mids and highs will be run by an eXcelon 542. HU is a CDE-HD149BT. Thanks in advance!

Lots good options for 5.25 out there.just go to ebay and find what best suits you.everybody has there own opinion. With that hu I believe you can run active .not sure on your amp if its a four or two channel..do you like alot of midbass? Do you like loud? I seen some jbl, realm, pionner, that look pretty good.really depending what you want.everybody ears hear different.

the amp is a 4 channel. i like there to be a smooth transition from sub to mid, but i know there are limitations to a 5.25 as opposed to say an 8. i like loud, and clear.

well after a little more research it seems going custom is going to be my best option as i have 3 speakers in each door:

5.25" woofer

2" mid range

3/4" tweet

other than madisound, where else should i be looking? also what should i look for when sourcing a crossover?
