pioneerforlife
so i have heard some people say it is not the best idea to run maxwell caps and lithium batts together. just trying to gather more info on why this is. thanks. 2007 Ford Focus SES Hatchback Pioneer HU 4 Digital Designs 9515i's in a B pillar. 2 Soundstream XXX 15K's (running at 16 volts) Soundstream Mids/Highs in custom door panels (getting rebuilt soon) Soundstream TA2.160 and TA2.400 Sky High and KNU wiring 3 Banks of Maxwell caps Winston Lithium (not a fan) Bump4Life 250 Amp Alt. aka USAlternators Soundstream Focus and Avenger Build Log Instagram @p4linnovation YouTube: Team Blowin Loud

IH8PunkRok
Here is my take on caps and batteries together Batteries sit at a much lower voltage when not being charged than caps. If you charge a battery at 14.8 and remove the charging source it falls to say 13. Capacitors in the same situation will remain at 14.8 for some time. Since electricity is all about balance, every time you turn off the car the caps begin charging the battery with everything they can muster until the voltages equalize. Essentially the caps will charge the batteries too hard and lead to their demise. If I understand right lithium is especially sensitive to this rapid overcharging -Matt2005 Dodge Magnum RTJVC KD-AVX1 2 PPI S580.2 Obsidian Audio ST1 Horn Tweeters PRV 8MB450s Audio Legion 3500.1D 2 RE MT 18s 360 ah LiFePO4 BatterySHCA 2/0 155.2 @ 29 hzKicker CVR 15's buildDD 3512e buildMini T-Line Build(6) 8s BuildNightshade 15s Wall BuildMagnum AB XFL 12s BuildNewest Magnum Build
ToNasty
Correct me if I'm wrong but I think you have it backwards. I always thought caps discharged faster while resting ***Super Sellers List***http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/25829-super-sellers-buyers

I always thought caps discharged faster while restingKind ofWe have a bank that had been sitting for 2 years which still rests at 8.5 volts. A battery in the same situation would be resting higher, I'm sure. But I'm talking immediately off of charge a battery jumps back down around 2 volts, caps very slowly walk down -Matt2005 Dodge Magnum RTJVC KD-AVX1 2 PPI S580.2 Obsidian Audio ST1 Horn Tweeters PRV 8MB450s Audio Legion 3500.1D 2 RE MT 18s 360 ah LiFePO4 BatterySHCA 2/0 155.2 @ 29 hzKicker CVR 15's buildDD 3512e buildMini T-Line Build(6) 8s BuildNightshade 15s Wall BuildMagnum AB XFL 12s BuildNewest Magnum Build
pioneerforlife
You can run caps and regular agm batts together no problem. I'm wondering about lithiums 2007 Ford Focus SES Hatchback Pioneer HU 4 Digital Designs 9515i's in a B pillar. 2 Soundstream XXX 15K's (running at 16 volts) Soundstream Mids/Highs in custom door panels (getting rebuilt soon) Soundstream TA2.160 and TA2.400 Sky High and KNU wiring 3 Banks of Maxwell caps Winston Lithium (not a fan) Bump4Life 250 Amp Alt. aka USAlternators Soundstream Focus and Avenger Build Log Instagram @p4linnovation YouTube: Team Blowin Loud

420c
Mostly its a safety issue due the massive damage that could be done to you or your vehicle if there is a failure from either one and if you combine them and theres a failure your pretty much dead
420c
Probably not the best for daily but theres always a risk in anything you do.

Pretty much same with the lithium. As long as you don't rub it too low or charge to high you should be fine. Plus the chemical makeup of the lithiums used In car audio is more stable. I was just trying to figure out if the caps could somehow damage the battery 2007 Ford Focus SES Hatchback Pioneer HU 4 Digital Designs 9515i's in a B pillar. 2 Soundstream XXX 15K's (running at 16 volts) Soundstream Mids/Highs in custom door panels (getting rebuilt soon) Soundstream TA2.160 and TA2.400 Sky High and KNU wiring 3 Banks of Maxwell caps Winston Lithium (not a fan) Bump4Life 250 Amp Alt. aka USAlternators Soundstream Focus and Avenger Build Log Instagram @p4linnovation YouTube: Team Blowin Loud
