Truck guys, that want a little bump in thier pickup with ext cab and are limited in space. I started out with two 10's and a autotek MM 4000.1 that's 1000 x 1 @ 4 ohms. The two 10s are 500 watts rms a piece. Sounds pretty darn good and hits pretty good for 10s. But I couldn't help but wonder what I would have got if I had gone with 2x12's, so I ordered two 12s and I'm going to try them out. I'm already handy capped because of the limited space I have to work with on an under seat box, but I am going to try it and see if it's better or worse. The amp can't do 2000 @ 2 ohms, so I'm going with 2 ohms this time and subs can handle 1000 watts each. Any of you run 12's in an under seat enclosure? FYI I have a silverado 2500hd.

Bass takes space, so you are always going to have a tough time with underseat boxes. Raising the seat a few inches can open up a lot of opportunities. thebluesbox Posted December 20, 2015 Author Report Posted December 20, 2015 I had a tuff time with my choice of subs because of wattage I need and the mounting depth I'm working with so I went with power acoustic BAMF. I have 1 cft for each sub which I know is really minimal.

All under the back seat of his truck. thebluesbox Posted December 20, 2015 Author Report Posted December 20, 2015 Well the two 10's I have in there now with .95 cubic feet each are pounding real good, and I like the sound. I just want to see what a couple 12's at lower ohms and higher watts will do. Right now the 10's are at 4 ohm which is making the amp push half its power at 1000 watts.

Rection Posted December 21, 2015 Report Posted December 21, 2015 When i do extended cabs, the only way i do them is remove the bottom half of the back seat, build the box, put seat foam on top of the box and upholster it. Way more space to work with. If someone just wants something under the seat, i turn the work down. I have a certain standard for my work, and cookie cutter bullshit has no appeal to me, thats why i quit working in shops. Owner of BigAss Ports
Cwallaker Posted January 27, 2016 Report Posted January 27, 2016 I'm running 2 12's in 1.50 cu ft each under the back seat . I lifted the seat using 2×3 steel tubing under each of the feet . I raised the brackets that the back slides on up 3 in and, welded them in place. It bangs pretty good but...., like most ,I want more!
