Power (Headroom) Question; Brainstorming Idea's

Im going to be running a Leviathan, 180x6, which is perfect for my woofers and tweeters. However, my 3" mids are not rated as high, and in past experience, has been the weak link in the Hertz XL setup. Even if I leave the gain all the way down for them, I still feel they will be overpowered. I don't have the room for a 4". So I either risk blowing them, or look at other 3" options (though I haven't seen any with that high an rms)

Thoughts and opinions please.

Your tweeters probably won't need anywhere near all that power. I'd get the tweeters gained in first and then set the gains for the midrange until it sounds how you want. I ran the hertz HiEnergy and Mille 3" mid range active off an amp that could put out over 100 watts and never had an issue. Crazy to see the 3" mid look like a subwoofer but it sounded great and never stumbled.

P99 will handle all tuning.

@Robert, the tweeter gain will likely be all the way down as well, not worried about that.

Open to all options, even a small 2 channel. But that kinda defeats the purpose of the 6-channel amp LOL. Don't know what to do, call this a brainstorming thread :)

Sorry for my horrible taste in music. Believe I had the tweeters on the 60 watt channel, midrange on 60-100 watt channel and mids on 100 or 150 watt channel. Can't remember without looking it up. This was active using the amps crossovers at the time.

Here is one out of the box.

A resistor in series with the driver would help to drop the current down. A 2 ohm resistor wouldn't get that hot as 2/3 of the power would be dropped across the driver.
