Karkov
I am in the market for a new montior(s) but am curious if I buy a Nvidia Gsync monitor now will it be compatible with the new GPU's coming out this summer? I don't want the monitor to not be able to use that technology within less than a year, that would suck. Also, with Gsync and AMD's Freesync competing right now will there be a day when there is only one? Kind of like what happened with BlueRay vs. HD DVD etc. Has Freesync been proven to work? Freesync is a lot cheaper (obviously) but I want to run Nvidia but also don't want to buy a monitor that is rendered useless in 6-12 months time. Just looking for info from people who know a WHOLE lot more than me. After help from Hotdog and Audiofanaticz I plan on using Displayport technology and cabling. I have one PC with AMD GPU and one PC with Nvidia GPU but only one monitor at the moment...see my predicament?? 2007 Chevy Tahoe (SOLD) 12 ~ FI Audio X series 10" w/BP option 2 ~ DC Audio 5.0K @0.67 3 ~ DC Audio 5.0K @1.0 2 ~ PPI 3 way sets (not installed yet) 1 ~ RF T400-4, 1 ~ RF T600-2, 1 ~ RF T600-4 4 ~ CT Sounds 5.25" Strato comps (rear fill only) 1 ~ XS Power D4800 1 ~ XS Power D3400 8 ~ XS Power XP3000 160 stock alt, Mechman 370 Elite, 185 DC Power 320+ Sq. hifonix
I dont see why Nvidia would walk away from Gsync, but we wont know more until the Nvidia conference in April. Under Construction

solar0987
Even if they " walk away form it" it will still be a badass monitor... And will work accordingly. Gaming? Resolution? Gpu?

audiofanaticz
I dont think they would walk away from it, but even if they did who cares. I dont even use my gsync ever. I tried, but it just dont seem as responsive as without it, but I dont think my pc is a good candate for what gsync was devolped for. I just haven't seen a need for it (yet anyways). Thank god, now the 980's price will drop down to where I'm comfortable getting a pair.

Consumer cards likely won't be quite that badass, in fact it's a safe bet they won't at all. 1080 still looks like an insanely powerful card, really excited to see how it perfoms.
