i see what he is saying... 2 subs on 10k might be overpowering them and get really loud but 10 subs on 10k would be giving them rated power or less be louder and be able to play way longer before heat becomes an issue.... i think of it like this....2 5000rms subs getting 10k or 10 2000rms subs getting 10k the 10 should never be stressed enough to melt down and be louder

You can run 10000 on single sub it is all about setting gains low and the signal right to achieve it. I run single level 5 on a Ampere 3800 for SQL in MECA no problems when dialed in right plus added headroom is great in SQL.

i think my only option of running more than two subs will be sealed. i wouldnt mind but people told me dont do it be couldnt give me a valid reason not to do it. With the space i have my options are two 15's ported, three 15's sealed, three 12's ported, four 12's sealed, and i might be able to do four ported 12's if i can find some that works in 1.5 cubes each

I see no reason not to go sealed (besides output) if you want to try it. Just not with the TEAM drivers you were talking about before. TEAMs are designed for ported enclosures. However with drivers that do work in sealed enclosures, it's super simple and the sound quality is very good. Plus you can adjust your response curve simply by adjusting the box volume. Just find the box volume that gives you a QTC of between .505 and .707 with the lower number coming from a larger box. They also roll off below resonance at 12 dB per octave as opposed to ported which has a much steeper rolloff. The BIG trade off is output. Two 15s ported or three 12s ported will give you more output than most of your sealed options.

I just returned "Advanced Speaker Design For The Hobbyist And Technician" by Ray Alden to the library last week. In the "Subwoofer" section, the very first design he showed was clamshell isobaric.

I like the idea. But what are the advantages of going that route
