How many watts can SoundQubed subs REALLY handle? I've come across many places that say these subs can handle a lot more power than what they are rated for. Does anyone have any experience with SoundQubed subs and their power handling?

for hdc4's anything more then 3500 watts rms ona daily basis is pushing it

my definition of daily is a couple song lengths at full tilt , and at that definition I was gettn some stink at full tilt with a single hdc418 on an atomic 5000.1 at 1.6 ohms (setup with smd dd-1 never dropping under 13.5 volts)

yea they can take a sq 4500.1 at 1/2 ohm but not for my definition of daily

of course this doesn't factor in impedance rise or voltage drop, enclosure makeup ect

. I love your answer it all depends on what your pushing your subs with , if your running some hifonics dirty power then your subs will not be happy but with clean unstressed power subs can take a beating.

Had a pair of HDC3 10's on a lanzar opti 3200 and never even got warm.

Currently have a HDC4 18 on a 3500 at 2 ohm and I can play it for over an hour full tilt and it is not even warm. Will be running it at .5 soon daily and wont be worried at all. It can take it

I'm running an HDS312 D4 on a Hifonics BEX1750.1D I'm getting it reconed to a D2 and also getting a new amp. That's why I am curious so it can help me decide what amp to use.

People can weigh in with what they are doing and it might give you a rough idea, but really power handling is a very complex problem and is very, VERY situationally dependent. Different box sizes, tunings, box layouts, environmental conditions, and content being played are all going to effect how much power you can reliably put into the system. A ported box can handle a lot less power when playing content right at its tuning frequency than it can playing content a half octave above that. Also most subs can handle REALLY high amounts of power (two or three times their RMS rating) if its for very brief periods and the given a chance to cool. It all depends on how the subs are being used.

The best thing you can do is just use some common sense and be observant when you are playing your system.

idk their coils and suspension and motors are decent but the cones suck ass and will break if you so much as look at them wrong. I had two hdc4 18's and they were my worst choice for subs i've ever made. and i was only running 2500w per sub and had a cone fold, motor shift, triple joints crack all while in a properly sized wall tuned in the low 40hz range and didnt play too low for their liking.

i'll never buy hdc4's again at least, might try the c3's for my next daily but even then I'm hesitant about it

I was going to pair my HDS312 to an NVX JAD1200.1 once I get it reconed. The dyno video I watched on it had it at 1400w rms certified and about 1600w rms dynamic. Does anybody think this will be too much power? I think it will match very nicely but I wanted to be sure first. I have a DC power high output alternator on the way and I also plan on getting a new AGM battery so my electrical system should be sending my amp no less than 14.4 volts at all times.

running an FSD FZ2600 at 1 ohm to a single HDS315. Roughly only putting about 1600 to it but it takes it. 5 cu ft box tuned to 33 hz. I layed into it yesterday for about 3 hours straight, amp and sub cool as a polar bears toe nail
