1994 Full-size Chevy Blazer "Budget build"

Recommended Posts

Been a member here for quite some time but never had anything to post until now. Currently working on a budget-minded SPL build that I've been working on for a few months now. The truck is a 1994 full-size Chevy Blazer two-door. I've had every intention of doing an SPL build for years and started collecting pieces about 4-5 years ago. I bought the truck about 2 years ago and have done some work to it. So you'll see some older items as well as some newer things. I will try and post pictures from the beginning of the build. Unfortunately I don't have any photos of the truck's condition when I first bought it. It was in pretty bad shape, the interior anyway. So here's a rundown of the equipment that I already have.

Source: Pioneer CD player with CD changer (that's right, no shame here!)

Processor: AudioControl DQS

Amps: Soundstream Rubicon 4-channel(1), 2-channel(2), and monoblock(4)

Tweeters: Lanzar Opti(4)

Mids: Lanzar Opti (8)

Subwoofers: American Bass HD-15(4)

Wiring: Knukonceptz, Streetwires

Electrical: XS Power D3400 (4)

This is what I still need or planning on buying:

AudioControl Matrix

Mechman Elite 370 Alternator

Lanzar Opti tweeters (1 more pair)

XS Power D 3400 (under the hood)

Ill post model numbers of products once I'm just about to install them.

Here are a few shots of some interior work I did a while back. Yup, if you're gonna have a stereo in your vehicle, gotta sound deaden it!! As you can see I stuffed the crevices with some pillow stuffing. The roof and floor got some foam treatment but that will come out. The foam on the roof did not stick well so I will pull it. But it did quiet the truck down quite a bit.

So this weekend, I will begin the building of the speaker box for the 4-15" American Bass HD's. Ill post pictures of that once it's under way. But first, a few of the doors and door pods that I have already started. I found these door panels at the salvage yard. These were from, I believe, a GMC. But they fit perfectly. I had to remove and trash the stock ones due to their poor state. These are plastic and more sturdy.
