sound quality differences between mono amps

I'm using monster cable rca's. I tested continuity and they did good. Headunit has 4v pre outs and those tested good also.

As soon as you connect the headunit to the jl amp, you can hear feedback through the door speakers.

I've also been told that pioneer headunits aren't compatible with jl Amps due to pioneers rca pre amp issues. I haven't been able to find any information on this though.

I don't know what to say at this point

Rca's are low input, the high input is for when you're using a speaker wire input to get signal from a factory stereo.

That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals.

I'm assuming the amp is used?

Did you test it before buying it?

What does your ground look like? (post a good picture if possible)

I would still test with other RCA's, I haven't had great experiences with Monster.

To answer the title of this thread: Not really, unless you are picking extremes.

The change in perceived sound quality you might hear is because of power differences.

Thinking is the root of all problems...

You ALWAYS get what you pay for.

To address the high low input confusion, jl used a high low switch on the rca in, low is up to 2v, high is 2-8v.

With the type of rca ins they used, ground loop is less likely. My suspicion is the amp doesn't like the ground.

Leave it to JL to add confusion to something so simple...thanks for the clarification though!
