Broke_Audio_Addict Posted May 3, 2016 Report Posted May 3, 2016 if that is 122 inches of port area, im going into porn ... with my 99 inch dick Pics of 99 inch dick? That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals.
Bayuk89 Posted May 3, 2016 Author Report Posted May 3, 2016 Whats break in time?????? Idk you tell ME lol i was just checking because i want long life from these guys, they are being fed rated power.
Bayuk89 Posted May 3, 2016 Author Report Posted May 3, 2016 if that is 122 inches of port area, im going into porn ... with my 99 inch dick Port is 6" wide by 20.5" tall.... According to my sub box app that puts it 122 square inches of port.
Broke_Audio_Addict Posted May 3, 2016 Report Posted May 3, 2016 Break in procedures are bullshit, all they are is a way out of honoring a warranty. That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals.
Bayuk89 Posted May 3, 2016 Author Report Posted May 3, 2016 I finished my build sunday and have been curious on "proper break in" i havent had a new sub since i was 18 years old.. Sunday and today i been listening to got 160's modified music with HU sub output set at -5 and volume 28-30 out of 35... Basicly 3/4 volume. Have about an hour of playing time total on them. So should i continue listening at 3/4 for the rest of the week till their "broke in" i couldnt find break in information on sundown website but soundqubed and B2 audio have break in "procedures"so your powering the sub with your HU ? No no no lol my amp is hooked up, i just turned my sub output on the HU to -5 on the setting.
Triticum Agricolam Posted May 3, 2016 Report Posted May 3, 2016 Here is how I see break in period. How the sub sounds will change as it gets broken in and the suspension loosens up. However, there is no need to take it easy on subs until they are "broken in", if anything you are just going to lengthen the amount of time it takes them to loosen up. Wail on them from the start. "Nothing prevents people from knowing the truth more than the belief they already know it.""Making bass is easy, making music is the hard part."Builds:
Bayuk89 Posted May 3, 2016 Author Report Posted May 3, 2016 Thanks triticum and others who helped i will play them normally tomorrow, i just wanted to be safe then sorry and figured i would ask.
SnowDrifter Posted May 3, 2016 Report Posted May 3, 2016 THERE IS NO SPECIAL BREAK INJust put them in and play, jesus... There are subs out there with spiders many times stiffer when "broken in" than the SAs are when new.Seriously, they just loosen up as you play them. Break in is what happens as you use them not a separate process you need to go through. I've stopped caring and push mine to the limit out of the box. They loosen up quick. You know what happens during break in? The spiders loosen up. That's all. You won't tear anything by playing too hard. I bet you don't go through a warmup procedure every morning to get your tires up to operating temperature do you? No, you drive. Tires warm up as you drive. It's what happens, not another step you need to take. Just put them in the box and play them. Don't reinvent the wheel. ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444
