Hell ya. Even with quad hair pins, our bat reserve is weak at best. And I don't like it want more reserve for sure

This is a perfect example. Perfect alt setup but I guarantee those alts are working their asses off due to the low reserve.

Bottom line, OP, get whichever alt will best suit your needs (high rpm vs idle) and up your batt bank as needed. I'd start by adding at least one more and keep adding until your voltage stabilizes.

A 370 will do just fine at idle but the 270s are monsters. I'd want a couple more batts for the reserve....the alt is there to supply your battery bank.....you can't rely on the alt to do all the work unless you want to stress the hell out of it.

Or you have more than enough alt for what your current draw is. But good luck doing that with today's high wattage systems lol

I'll admit, half way through sanding that fiberglass in the rain and cold while I was all itchy I was definitely starting to question why i was doing this haha

This is true lol

I just wanted to point out that there's more to it than just having the biggest alt you can fit under the hood. For example a vehicle that idles around 5-600 rpm that can fit a 320 is gonna eat shit at idle with that 320. Throw a 270 in there and it will hold voltage all day as long as you have a decent reserve. Which leads into my other point. You can have a triple/quad alt setup with shitty reserve and you may have enough alt for what you need but without the reserve, those alts are going to be working so damn hard, you would've been better off with less alt and more reserve.

The 370 is a monster alt but it might not be the best option in some applications. For example if you plan on playing at idle most of the time in a vehicle that idles low. The 270 will likely provide you with the same power the 370 would in the same application.
