Which one should i get as a second battery ... i have a d3400 under the hood but that one isnt enough to push my 4500 watt RMS sound system

Alternator > battery

the XP3000 is a larger battery

120 ah > 75 ah

XP3000 > D6500

Your alt does all the work from battery resting voltage and up, that's all on alt power. Until you dip as low as battery resting voltage your batteries are doing nothing. How low are you dropping? Your batteries will help maintain a certain voltage if your alt can't keep up.

Im dropping like 11.5 ....and right now i have a 240 amp mechman alternator and big 3 upgrade and the d3400 and still have voltage drop ... so do you think the xp3000 would help with my voltage drop?

Posted

What ohm load is the amp wired to? Yes, a XP3000 would help you not drop so low, from about 13 volts and down you would drop much slower down to 11.5 if ever even get that low at all with the XP3000

Like ^^ he said, D series can go under hood and such where as XP series must be like inside cabin and what not.

Sounds like you have already done all the prereq stuff and now you are at the point where yes, just add a battery and watch voltage

You have almost the same electrical setup I have. I have a 240a mechman, d3400 under hood and an xp3000 in the back. Have a soundqubed 3500 at half ohm and it doesn't drop below 13.

The xp3000 would do great.

No VS threads!!!

I like the xp for daily and d series for spl and daily. However, these two batts aren't even in the same category as far as output goes. The xp3000 is the stronger of the two by far.

Not a "VS" thread within same manufacturer.
