Octo port vs Aero port

WHat is the efficiency of an Octo port vs an aero port?
Is the port area of an octo port measured the same as an aero port or a slot port?

i would take an Aero all day. At least it is functional and can make a difference. The octo looks cool sometimes (i seen some HACKS), but is such a waste of time. No benefit at all over a simple round pipe. Measuring will be the same although you might have to account for all the little corners you have now vs. using a pipe that has none.

WHat about Octo vs a slot for efficiency ?

you jut need to measure surface area pretty much. Count the surface area of all the flat sides. Lowest is best. Avoid high ratio slot ports, like higher than 7 to 1 i guess.

Like strangeduck said, efficiency large comes down to the ratio of internal circumference to port area. Single round (aero) ports are going to be the best, octo ports are a close second. Low aspect ratio slot ports are next best.

Where round and octo ports will fall behind a slot port is when you have to use multiple round ports compared to one large slot port.

ETA: While one style of port may be less efficient than another, this can be compensated for by just making the port larger.
