What's happening?

So first question, any help is very appreciated,

I have 1 Orion HCCA 5000.1D and 4 Orion HCCA 12" 2+2 ohm

Would an amplifier start to smoke if no load/speakers are connected?

Second question:

Is it bad to use stainless steel bolts as "studs" for an amplifier?

I can upload a picture of what I mean about the studs/bolts if it is not understood.

An amp getting proper power while being idle should not just start smoking. Either something is wrong with the amp, there was a short somewhere.

Picture, don't know what you mean.

Verify that it is the amp smoking and not something around the amp

Does it smoke any time the key is on?

Okay. I will try and get as many good photos as I can. I may end up making a short video because I'm thinking that may be easier to see and explain everything

As I was trying to get pictures just now. I didn't put the speaker wires back and it did not smoke. (The wires are not hooked up to any speakers obviously). Could that have been it? It didn't smoke this time.

Hard to tell what's goin on I like your bolt idea that's not your problem, hook it all up again maybe with the speakers hooked up pulling resistance it will smoke other wise don't know ,was key on in the vid

Take a multi meter. Measure the resistance on your speaker wires, then resistance from both positive/negative wires to ground

Key was not on in video. I was not able to replicate the smoke. The only thing I changed was not having the speaker wires plugged in. I'm not sure that was it. I will do more testing with it tomorrow, @SnowDrifter should there be a difference in resistance or be the same?

If It does smoke again tomorrow I will try and get video/pictures of it to see.

Well it stopped smoking but then it just shut off. So I'm pretty sure it blew and I am out of the area of what I know. So I am trying to find a place around me that can/will test it for me.
