I will be bracing the trans tunnel and floorboard. keep in mind, the floor board is not flat. it is ribbed for strength. thanks guys. don't want rip the floor a couple weeks after I just got it playing haha. 1999 GMC Yukon, 6 PSI platform 5 18's, 4th order bandpass by BHE, Taramps,

RooTxBeeR Posted June 28, 2016 Report Posted June 28, 2016 Have you deadened it at all? And, with having floor ribs, it still flexes? 3vil Posted June 28, 2016 Report Posted June 28, 2016 You have a welder, so crack out either some box tubing or angle iron and get to work.

Kyblack76 Posted June 28, 2016 Report Posted June 28, 2016 Ours happened fast... about 8 days of playing it. 11" rip on one side of the trans tunnel, and a 8" on the other. 10" rip on pass side floor board. Kenny had enough. Cut templates, matched with metal. Floor board is weak. Youll just break at the welds if you dont beef it up. Thanks, that's what im trying to avoid haha. have you braced yours yet? if so how thick of metal did you use. the reason I haven't welded the floor yet is because my welder is a 170 amp 220v and it blows holes in the sheet metal almost immediately lol. 1999 GMC Yukon, 6 PSI platform 5 18's, 4th order bandpass by BHE, Taramps,
fox_racin4 Posted June 29, 2016 Report Posted June 29, 2016 Weld in some steel, then put some wood on top. Turn the welder down if its blowing holes. Mine was done with a 220v welder. It'll also problyyy happen again too 1998 gmc extd cab 12 crossfire C710s 4 SAZ-4500s 3 Singer 400A altsbuncha mids/highs Team Asshole

Or if the floor holds, the dash and fire wall is IS next. Struggle is real. Just keep on keepin on till the truck folds in half, and then buy another one We also thought about hitting our pickNpull and cut out a floor from a donor. Cut some spot weld holes in, and lay it over, and go to town. But, we went the repair what was broken, then lay strips of metal down. So far, its holding, as far as we know.
