What brand and type RCA to use with Crescendo Amps?

I am running 2 Crescendo BC5500 Amps. I was using Xscorpion Quad Shield RCA Cables. All was fine for months then i heard a sizzle and puff of smoke and my RCA cables were melted and amp goes into protect with or without cables hooked in.

If the amp protects with nothing hooked up you got other problems than what type of rca cable to use.

I realize that. But something caused the rca to melt and make amp go into protect. Some people say i could've been using the wrong style rca

what probably happened was you had such a bad ground on your amp, it was probably trying to pull ground through the rca's and that is never a good thing. Fix that and if the amp isn't ruined it will probably work.

But anyone that says it could have happened from "the wrong type of rca's" is a straight up NOOB. That don't make any sense at all. lol.

The only thing i found not normal was on 2 of my sub rca ends in the console the covers that scew on the actual rca ends came unscrewed.

This is prolly what he ment by "wrong" RCA cables.... two different types of RCA's

But using the wrong style will not cause the issues he had with the rca's melting, period.

Something else is wrong with the install or the amp.

Broke audio ^^^^^^ prolly why it melted, rca ends came unscrewed causing the signal to have to jump across.

I just posted the video to back up his statement of "wrong" rca cable with his amp, in the video it explains why the twisted pair and shielded pair work better for certain built amps. not that the "wrong" cables caused his problem.

Until you find the problem, a new RCA would be expected to smoke and burn the same. I would dissect the install and verify the operation of each component on a test bench (amps, head unit, EQ, everything). Then I would trace the routing of each and every wire running front to back and pull them out to verify that nothing was chafed or damaged like the RCA had come in contact with 12v. I think Mead hit the nail on the head that the amp was seeking a ground through the RCA shield.
