Aero Ports Vs Slot Ports

I personally prefer aeros because they have less displacement and are easier to tune. Its extremely fast & easy to swap aeros to change tuning so you can have one for daily and one for competing.

If you build it, db's will come...

NSPL World Record Holder Trunk 0-1800 watts---147.9 with 1722 clamped watts @ 40Hz(9-20-09).

Competition Only Record Holder Trunk 0-500 watts---148.1

I do box designs.

i think im gonna go aero's.

but in the same box, same subs, if i was to tune a slot port to 31hz, and aero's to 31hz (again, same size box/subs/amps/power/etc) will the slot be louder (i plan on getting into bassrace, i dont care for dB drag burping, etc...)

Same box, same tuning, and proper port area there won't be much if any difference.

i hear people tend to have slight benefits with the aeros. smoother airflow, since a sphere (tho it's a tube...still a circe :P) is the most efficient shape

Sorry for butting in, but i was told by someone at Ass-pen sound that Aero ports are for better air velocity and are not worth the effort to mess with them.. If that isnt the case, i would like to build an enclosure with aero ports..

if a slot port is 200 in², what is its equivalent in aeros? like how many 6" aeros would i need

Eleven 6" aeros would be 207 sq in" of port area.
