Jessica Posted August 5, 2016 Report Posted August 5, 2016 I wonder how many bends in a single aero port can you do before it causes issues? Anyone know, does it even matter? boom50cal Posted August 5, 2016 Report Posted August 5, 2016 on my volvo box I used two of these short 90s in it. http://www.homedepot.com/p/NDS-6-in-PVC-90-Degree-Hub-x-Hub-Elbow-6P02/100138527 roughly 30 inches long each port. shit load of port area for a 4ish cube single 15 box. It did a 146.6 on 900w clamped. I guess it didn't affect it too much cause imo it was a pretty bitchin trunk setup. Bet the long sweep would have been more efficient though. Triticum Agricolam Posted August 5, 2016 Report Posted August 5, 2016 I wonder how many bends in a single aero port can you do before it causes issues? Anyone know, does it even matter? If you use long sweeps like this: http://www.homedepot.com/p/Charlotte-Pipe-6-in-PVC-DWV-90-Degree-Long-Sweep-1-4-Hub-x-Hub-Elbow-PVC-00304-1400/203950301 There probably is very little, if any, detrimental effects. Fitting those long sweeps in your box might be a bit of a challenge though. Jessica Posted August 5, 2016 Author Report Posted August 5, 2016 i thought about sweeps. Im looking at what port area i want and its gonna suck, cause getting enough area and still tuning low is a pita. Even with a slot port. I may jst rundown to home depot and test fit a few pieces and measure them assembled to see what i will be looking at. Nightshade Posted August 5, 2016 Report Posted August 5, 2016 I would not bend more than once. Even a single bend is going to affect SPL a bit. notorious97200 Posted August 5, 2016 Report Posted August 5, 2016 Those elbows are expensive ! You'd better use a slot port, if you need any angle in the port, IMO. black BMW X1 2.0 l 192 hp OEM head unit, Amplifiers : Audison AP 8.9 with integrated DSP and Ampere Audio 1200.
