Smoove
My 250amp Mechman is a self exciting and self turn on alt.One thing I definitely like is not having to run a turn on relay for multiple alts One-wire Alternator: Is another name for the Self-Exciting Alternator mentioned above. You only need to connect the battery wire (one-wire).The alternator turns on the voltage regulator when the engine starts turning the alternator. 2 Team Fi 15's v1 2 DD M5's 970amps of Alt 6th order blowthroughThe truck Blowthrough build : http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/155555-smooves-1996-chevy-ext-cab-c1500-slow-build/The 350z build : http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/170694-smooves-2003-nissan-350z/ My FB page https://www.facebook.com/pages/Smooves-Car-Audio-and-performance/719746144805343 Team Fi Audio http://www.ficaraudio.com/
Bayuk89
Was there a reason to keep the orange tag on the + stud of the alt ??
ShadeTreeMechanic
Some people like to turn off some of their alts when not needed. I am not sure why. This can't be done with one wire alts. 91 C350 Centurion conversion ( Four Door One Ton Bronco) 250A Alternator (Second Alternator Coming Soon) G65 AGM Up Front / Two G31 AGM in Back Pioneer 80PRS CT Sounds AT125.2 / CT Sounds 6.5 Strato Pro component Front Stage CT Sounds AT125.2 / Lanzar Pro 8" coax w/compression horn tweeter Rear Fill FSD 5000D 1/2 ohm (SoundQubed 7k Coming Soon) Two HDS315 Four Qubes Each 34hz (Two HDC3.118 and New Box Coming Soon)

This can't be done with one wire alts. turning off internally regualated alts still being spun by the belt, An alt maker said was bad. I know some people still do it. I have an Ohio Gen self exciting alt. I love it. Glad to hear it's working great, I was kinda unsure about the design since no one I knew was using this style alt. I am loving the idea of no turn relay cabling. 2 Team Fi 15's v1 2 DD M5's 970amps of Alt 6th order blowthroughThe truck Blowthrough build : http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/155555-smooves-1996-chevy-ext-cab-c1500-slow-build/The 350z build : http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/170694-smooves-2003-nissan-350z/ My FB page https://www.facebook.com/pages/Smooves-Car-Audio-and-performance/719746144805343 Team Fi Audio http://www.ficaraudio.com/
