Thanks man. The fuse blocks are made with a hefty chunk of aluminum, which far exceeds the amp capacity of 1/0 cable. I was going to run 2 sets of dual runs from the bus bar, to the fuse block, to the amp. Then I would use only 2 fuse blocks with 300A fuses each. Probably a dumb idea, but I wanted to check all connection options so I could make the best final decision. Now I'm just going to use 4 fuse blocks with 150A fuses each. The amp will still use 2 sets of dual inputs, though. 4 hours ago, BEEKAY said: Great job so far man. Thanks man. WalledSonic
I'm still doing research on fusing large amps such as this SCV-6000D, so any helpful input is appreciated. WalledSonic
Slow progress is still progress... Measured out the drill-hole locations. I hate to drill in the front face, but thats how this box is designed. When I saw user JeepAndBass's stained subwall a couple months back, I realized that filling the drill holes is alright and doesnt detract from the stained face very much. Drilling and counterboring this weekend. I found the spec sheet for PL Glue, apparently its permissible temp for curing is anywhere between 0degF to 160degF. I was concerned it may not cure well in the low temps we'll be seeing this weekend here in Houston, but it should be alright. Also took the face walls into the 'Sub-Lab' (my spare bedroom) and made sure they fit alright. They do. WalledSonic
BASSHEAD PROBLEMS I still have room while the 6K is not installed. WalledSonic
Predrilling the face boards for install today. Also had the faces fastened in place so I could predrill the holes for the box, too. A careful wood chisel can scrape damn near anything off the veneer without damaging it Used an eraser to get rid of the pencil marks now that I've predrilled and counterbored the holes We all make mistakes haha Added my sub RCA's to my wire loom going to/from the trunk on the passenger side. Tomorrow: Painting the inside of the box and installing the face boards.
