megaboom
Hello all, I have a set of 18" Sundown ZV3 18's sitting in my garage and was looking for some ideas as far as a box goes for my 87 olds cutlass supreme. Any help or recommendations? 2008 Black Chevy Tahoe -Murderedout/ 2/4 Belltech drop/26" U2-55's/ HID's in fogs and headlights/G5 tails1 - BC35001 - C1100.42 - SA ZV3 18's6 - 8" SA Neo Pro's2 - FT1-SE Tweets
Joe X
Don't do it if you have to fire the sub up, most got unbearable rattling doing that, read around.
megaboom
Thank you for the response, unfortunately I may have to fire up but after taking some measurements I may be able to do a wedge design firing back. Looking at the specs on the sub they don't require as much as space as normal 18's 2008 Black Chevy Tahoe -Murderedout/ 2/4 Belltech drop/26" U2-55's/ HID's in fogs and headlights/G5 tails1 - BC35001 - C1100.42 - SA ZV3 18's6 - 8" SA Neo Pro's2 - FT1-SE Tweets
megaboom
Could someone maybe help me with a basic box design? Max dimensions 48wx16Hx20d.... it's about 7 cubes I may have a inch or two on the width and maybe a inch or two on depth but that's being able to get it in and out easily. I could make a more complex box going into the area under the rear deck. Joe X
48w x 16H x 20d you almost can't do two 15s ported properly, after all displacements you get less than 5 net. say 2.5 net per driver, not enough for most 15s, unless you can go deeper you may be be better off doing two 12s. Now since the Zv3 18 can work in a smaller box you could do something like this: Sub usually goes reverse mounted, box is harder to build and needs to be designed manually.
