bsneon98 Posted December 23, 2016 Report Posted December 23, 2016 Best bet is to use a test light if unsure if pinouts Build Log: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/152954-1998-plymouth-neon-updates/
SkarredSierra Posted December 23, 2016 Report Posted December 23, 2016 Just run a fused wire into one of the extra accessory spaces in the cars main fuse block and that will act as a remote turn on.
WyattWatson Posted December 23, 2016 Author Report Posted December 23, 2016 Just run a fused wire into one of the extra accessory spaces in the cars main fuse block and that will act as a remote turn on. How would i go about doing that? This is my first system install so i dont know much
Ron36 Posted December 23, 2016 Report Posted December 23, 2016 Use the radio fuse put the wire in and cram the fuse in , not the best way but it works they also make fuse buddies that piggy back the fuse but it sounds like your in a pinch , or with your test light with ignition on make sure u find a fuse that's 12volts and when u turn the ignition off the power goes off. Most fords will have a 5amp fuse and a 20 or 30amp use the higher fuse. 2022 Ford Maverick on 22’s Skar SK1500.1 on 4 Skar VD-8’s Mids Sundown Super tweeters, Skar TX 6.5 components on Skar SKM400.4 LC2 for audio control , XS Power D680 XS Series Extra Battery
neuspeedescort Posted December 23, 2016 Report Posted December 23, 2016 Use the radio fuse put the wire in and cram the fuse in the worst advise ever! get your owners manual out. it will tell you all the fuse locations and what they do. get a test light of multimeter for double checking purposes. your lincoln likely takes mini blade fuses. so once you find your location get an add-a-fuse and install it at the switched power location you find. the other thing you can do is use an unused location and install and inline fuse and use a spade connector on the powered side of the terminal.
WyattWatson Posted December 24, 2016 Author Report Posted December 24, 2016 For now I took the wire and twisted it to the 1 of the radio fuse legs. Thank you for the information. What size add a fuse would i use if i got one to put in a unused location?
