GorillaFIngeRs
Looking for some help, I need to build an enclosure for my new sub and am looking for some help on a design. I can give up 34.5w X 22d X 15.5 OD max. I'm looking to get tuned at 32hz @ 2.5 cubes. I am going to be starting this build in the morning any help is greatly appreciated. I can't wait to hear this thing come to life. 03silvergt
Someone will ask what is it going into for sub and port placement. Might want to add the vehicle and amount of power. 2017 Chevrolet Silverado LT CC - Will be running 2-3 DC Audion M3 8s, unsure of amp, Mechman 320 amp alt. 2005 Ford F150 - Bagged on 24s, fully shaved, raised bed floor. GorillaFIngeRs
Toyota Corolla off a crescendo s1500.1 so 1500w. Mostly hip hop music is what I listen to. Also, I work out of my car and have to use my trunk so I have to have my sub facing forward to prevent the sub getting damaged. My current port is side firing but I would like to have this one facing forward. I'm open to any recommendations. GorillaFIngeRs
These are some ideas of what I have in mind. If these dimensions look good I would like to go with the less wide of the two. Let me know what you guys think. Would anyone be willing to CAD this up for me so I can get a visual for when I'm building. Thank. http://s1168.photobucket.com/user/mlentz2728/media/New Sub Box Build/C225295B-0A21-4189-A8D9-DF2F8E9FE926_zpsyth7s28r.jpg.html http://s1168.photobucket.com/user/mlentz2728/media/New Sub Box Build/1502C54D-1430-432C-96AD-2587333474F4_zps0j6ppr9d.jpg.html AQ3500.115" Fi SP41/0 Knuconceptz Power/Ground 1/0 Sky High Big 3 UpgradePioneer AVH-4200NEXXS Power D1200 Underhood Intimidator Gel In Trunk CES 250A Alternator

The first link is the original plans pictured. The second is a box I put together utilizing a little of that extra airspace we had left over. It lowered the port ratio a little bit too, so it's an idea if you like it. I just noticed I did the wider plans, but with the room left over you can keep the same idea and make it 2" less wide or so and still make higher end of the airspace rec. so far... Not sure what I was thinking. mine was based on 3.5 cubes for some reason. What about this? I'm Messing around with different port sizes, I was told that this sub would sound best between 40-50 sqft of port area. Looks like the one you mocked up would be in the lower 60's what would be the effect of the different port areas? http://s1168.photobucket.com/user/mlentz2728/media/New Sub Box Build/7DA3BF04-B211-4853-8C14-A4D0A3C7B92D_zps5cykclxt.jpg.html AQ3500.115" Fi SP41/0 Knuconceptz Power/Ground 1/0 Sky High Big 3 UpgradePioneer AVH-4200NEXXS Power D1200 Underhood Intimidator Gel In Trunk CES 250A Alternator
kam311
That one seems to add up nice. Basically the same idea as the second box pictured except its true L-port. Port area is the surface area of the port, different shapes will add up differently. your design has it right where you want it so far... When I select 1 baffle in Torres does that mean the front panel where the sub mounts will be doubled up? That was my intention but just wanted to be sure. This sub weighs like 50lbs so I don't want to just mount to a single 3/4" board. I will I'll be headed out to pick up the wood this morning and then getting started. Stay posted for pics. I'll try to post some throughout the day. MrSkippyJ
I'm terrible at boxes and box design, but isn't that a little big for a 12?
