Shelbywh89 Posted February 11, 2017 Report Posted February 11, 2017 I have a question I'm looking to do a build with three Level 4 Dc 15's so I need a box 9Cuft in the trunk of my old school G body. The place i talked two wants to do 3 single boxes and put a beauty panel over the front to make it look like one big box. Will this work and be okay?

It will result in a heavier, larger setup with no meaningful difference in performance. Could you be more specific on which exact car and what's the plan? 3 15s need a pretty large vehicle to fit properly.

However I don't really believe there will be much benefit in doing 3 separate boxes unless the issue is getting it in and out of the trunk. you would be much better off building the enclosure permanently inside the trunk as one chamber.

Sounds like they are going to grab three pre fab boxes and throw them in there. I would take it somewhere else. Sounds like a Mustang I did once...with usable trunk space but had no rear seat access into the trunk and a relatively small trunk opening at the lid! Seperate enclosures? It can be done, just make sure the shop ties them together really solid... Really everyone should know that 15" Dc's usually are powered by some real power and venting them into the cabin somehow will not be a bad idea... Just make sure the installation shop is on the same page. Dynamat can only help so much! Love those Caddys!
