06RTCharger
Heres a shot of all the wires going into the trunk area. The speaker wire bundles go along each side then go up the back panels a bit then into a gap between the sheet metals.
06RTCharger
Finally got to start on laying Second Skin Luxury Liner Pro. I hope its fine to lay the soft gray foam side up?????. Noticed most people on youtube seem to have the hard rubber dark side up. This LLP stuff is actually pretty easy to lay out, i just ran out of day light after doing the other things and a couple things in the trunk. Just layed down three sections, the rear seat section is secured with velcro under it. Ill finish it tomorrow. Have to lay some on the sides and fill in the gaps between the big sections and then finish it off by using the foil tape to give it all good seal from road noise. 06RTCharger
Had to redo the layout of the LuxPro today so i pulled yesturdays pieces out and i was able to just flip the passenger footwell peice and reinstall it just like that. Then traced out the flipped side of the other peices onto other sheets of LuxPro and put those back in place with the correct side up this time lol. Also added more velcro strips to both rear seat peices and the center humps sidewalls. Here it is. Not taped and secured yet, just layed out. If youtube links dont work please let me know. I like to show as much as i can of the install and doing that with only photos gets tedious with the amount of photos, so i figure a quick video would be easier to show more at once. 06RTCharger
Before i apply foil tape to seal the gaps, joints and edges, i will test fit the carpet to make sure it'll squeeze back in lol. Its a tight fit. Doesnt look too bad from a far.....
06RTCharger
From close up.... it pretty bad. But ill deal with lumpy carpet for the sake of sound quality lol. Just really hoping the seats mount back in ok. We'll find out tomorrow ???? 06RTCharger
I wish the foil tape that second skin has was more rigid with an adhesive that was a lot stonger. Using it to seal the gaps/joints of the LuxPro was a pretty rediculous, got it done tho. Maybe the tape isnt made for that? I think i got the idea from watching Caraudiofabrication. Ended up working into the night, had to pull out the fishing headlamp to finish up the laying, velcroing and foil taping of the Lux Pro. Finished it right at 1am, glad thats over. I can finally put my interior all back in tomorrow. Heres a video clip of it, should be able to see it all a lil better. This song is VERY relavent to how i feel now lol. 06RTCharger
To try to make up for the space that the DampPro and LuxPro is taking up now, i decided to remove the molded foam backing from all the carpet. Its a tedious task but worth it, carpet fits way better. Heres the driver footwell carpet with foam removed next to the passenger footwell carpet with foam still intact. Tried to take the foam off the passenger carpet in one piece to show how much space it takes. View of the huge foam backing spread over the hood
06RTCharger
Then did the same to the rear carpet. The rear passenger outer corner of the seat was the worst section, where the power wires run. But after pulling foam it wasnt as bad, specially after the trim pieces go back in. Pile of foam from just that rear carpet
