jnasty
Small but critical steps... These arc SE amps take balanced rj45 inputs so I've been terminating my own cables. Using shielded cat7 & using the drain wire @ the DSP which will go back to the ground terminal block. Some wire ferrules on the 4awg & 2/0. Picked up an epicenter too since I'll be flat to 15hz.. hope it doesn't sound artificial, just some experimenting.. No, I've read that that may cause ground loop noise... Not sure about how the science works behind it tho. There's a small terminal block at the DSP where all the drains connect & I'll have an 8awg or something small connecting that to the neg on the battery. I've read conflicting arguments where the shield should be grounded at the source (DSP) or receiving end (amps).. I just took the easier and better looking route and did it at the source Vehicle: 2002 Ford Escape Electrical: 275A Singer, 160ah XS/Yinlong lithium, 2,000farad XS Supercaps Head Unit: Apple iPad Hi-Res Passthrough Topping d10s Speakers: {ACTIVE} - (4) Arc Audio RS 6.0, (2) Arc Audio RS 4.0 & (2) Arc Audio RS 1.0 Sub Stage: (2) TC Sounds LMS Ultra 5400 18" Amplifiers: ARC Audio - (4)4200SE(comp modded, (2)4000SE Processing: Helix DSP Pro W/ Dash Mounted Director
jnasty
Started working on the manifold that will house the 2 18's... I'm still super super torn between the fi ib3 or Acoustic elegance subs... I've always had loud subs, I'm not sure if the AE will have enough SPL for my taste.. anyway here's the manifold which is double layer. Outside MDF, Inside layer is pressure treated ply because it'll be exposed on the bottom side once I cut the 15x15 hole in the wheel well. ToNasty
I'm an ae type of guy. But I do have a question. Is the floor cut on the baffle? Because If not than that's not infinite baffle ***Super Sellers List***http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/25829-super-sellers-buyers
AaronT
Dude that looks awesome. Can you explain the box to me? I know it's IB, just don't understand the loading aspect of that design. Also why are you cutting a hole in the floor pan? I have that body style escape as well they are unusual little trucks
