Dave88LX Posted January 12, 2020 Report Share Posted January 12, 2020 I hate to ask a "what amp? question but I realized that I have some sizing constraints. I have a 2007 Dodge Ram Mega Cab. I bought a Subthump sealed box with the built-in amp rack: 2006-2018 Dodge Ram Mega Cab Dual Sub Box With Amp Space Amp rack is 20" W x 13" H. Reference pics are below. I have a pair of the older 12" SSA GCONs. I spoke to SSA to ask for amp recommendations; they suggested something around 2000W @ 1Ω. Based on the amps in their store, they suggested:Synergy Audio WFO 2.1D 2,000w RMS Mono Block Incriminator Audio IA 15.1 Mono Block Amplifier (Along with a couple others I have written at work). My challenge is choosing a quality amp (up to $5xx range) that will deliver the clean power, and fit in the provided space (with room to run the wires)...I'm guessing the amp settings will need to be done before mounting. Synergy is 17" wide. Incriminator is 17.7" wide. Ampere Audio AA-2000.1 is 19.4" SSA IC2200.1 is 18.9" Any recommendations I should look at based on the power/physical size? I'm still looking at amps myself. How much space do I need on the power and RCA side to run cables without bending them too sharply? I've tried to provide as much info as possible -- don't want to be accused of being lazy. Anything I missed, just ask.
