jessdabest77
I was wondering if you have a h. O. Alternator, AGM up front and three agms in the back and with 8500 watts of amp power, is it better to run multiple runs of power wire from front to back or can you run a single larger gauge wire? If multiple wires, what size wire and if you can just run one wire, what size would be efficient?
MrSkippyJ
if you have enough wire to carry the current and voltage you need then it doesn't really matter in a DC application. It mostly gets down to cost (wire, connections, fuses, etc..) and how easily you can run a fewer larger gauge wires. It gets tough to find places to put large gauge wire sometimes. jessdabest77
Your right, it does add up quickly, on cost. I guess that's why I was wondering if I should run a few smaller gauge wires or one larger gauge wire, and what sizes.
liteblue
two 1/0 gauge wires has the same cmils as a single 4/0.
