gator1873 Posted May 28, 2020 Report Posted May 28, 2020 What would be a good amp to push 4 HiQ 6.5 woofers (4ohm) going into a ported box

Or is your ending ohm load going to 4 ohms per sub? 2011 Chevy Silverado under construction My build log here. Check it out!

Ron36 Posted May 28, 2020 Report Posted May 28, 2020 Those subs look pretty tough , show some pics when done and let’s here a review. 2022 Ford Maverick on 22’s Skar SK1500.1 on 4 Skar VD-8’s Mids Sundown Super tweeters, Skar TX 6.5 components on Skar SKM400.4 LC2 for audio control , XS Power D680 XS Series Extra Battery
gator1873 Posted May 28, 2020 Author Report Posted May 28, 2020 Yes very exited about the 6.5 woofers, just need to get the right power to these bad boys. thinking of sundown audio or taramps just doent know what model would work best??
Ron36 Posted May 28, 2020 Report Posted May 28, 2020 I’d run 2k on those things allday, I’m a Sundown guy so that’s my choice haven’t heard any Taramps in person but on a lot of reviews looks like they are not efficient on power . But that can be said for a lot of amps. 2022 Ford Maverick on 22’s Skar SK1500.1 on 4 Skar VD-8’s Mids Sundown Super tweeters, Skar TX 6.5 components on Skar SKM400.4 LC2 for audio control , XS Power D680 XS Series Extra Battery

Ron36 Posted May 28, 2020 Report Posted May 28, 2020 I’m guessing your gonna run at 2ohms so maybe SFB 3k 2022 Ford Maverick on 22’s Skar SK1500.1 on 4 Skar VD-8’s Mids Sundown Super tweeters, Skar TX 6.5 components on Skar SKM400.4 LC2 for audio control , XS Power D680 XS Series Extra Battery
1point21gigawatts Posted May 28, 2020 Report Posted May 28, 2020 What’s your budget on an amp? “How can we help you?” “And don’t forget to tell them that the customer isn’t always right.”
1point21gigawatts Posted May 28, 2020 Report Posted May 28, 2020 If it’s $450 then get that 3k Ron recommended but if it’s $170 then get this amp. I love Sundown for sure! But Taramps are good and do more than rated rms. They rate their amps at 12.6v.https://limitlesslithium.com/taramps-md-1800-1-2-ohm/ “How can we help you?” “And don’t forget to tell them that the customer isn’t always right.”
