jonathancullen89 Posted June 4, 2008 Report Share Posted June 4, 2008 i have been messing around with boxes in my car, ive always had a hatchback and everything ive build sounded great but when i built a ported box for my trunk it sounded like shit and was no where near as loud as my little ass sealed box. the box was 2cu^ft tuned to 33 hz subs back and port up. low end was a little better but was no where near as loud. i want to put a system in this so ive been messin around with a walmart lightning audio in different boxes tryin to find out which is better. boxes ive used- 1.5cu^ft sealed, best sounding out of all of them also the loudest.... 2 cu^ft sealed, little more low end, sounded good until i broke it 2 cu^ft ported to 33hz, alot more low end and rattles from the trunk, was not as loud in the cabin though so went back to 1.5 sealed. are your guys's trunk boxes tuned high or something, i know im not running the best equiptment but i wanted to plan the build before i got the subs. thanks for any imput on the matter. trunk cars ftl! 1992 cavalier build 1992 blazer s10 kenwood cd hifonics hfi2500d 6 soon to be 12 12" hifonics hfi12d4's shit ton-o-wire Blurred Vision Audio Team SMD feedback/refs. clicky!- Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
