trainman0978
cuz somtimes when i put solder on it it just drips down When it does that , put the connector on the end of the wire, then take a pic or a nail or something and push it down into the wire that is inside the connector, then pull it out. All you are trying to do is make the wire spread out into the connector. Don't force it, and don't mess up all the strands of copper , just stick the nail or whatever into the center and pull it out, not only will it spread out the wire it will give you a nice cavity for solder to fill and the liquid heated solder will penetrate the strands better. 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser Voo Doo Blue my upgrades and "build" thread. usmc7980
I normally use compression fittings with the set screw from Knukonceptz. What I do is tin the end of the wire then fill the terminal with solder, insert the wire. tighten down the set screw then solder the head so it can't back out. trainman0978
x2... spend twenty bucks and buy a torch or mini torch. If you got the coin to spend on 0 gauge wire, you ought to be able to afford to finish it off right. I know my first couple of 0 gauge wire solder jobs were sloppy, but I learned by trial and error and from reading on here. Do it right after you learn and be done with it . 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser Voo Doo Blue my upgrades and "build" thread.
