Noobtastic14 Posted July 1, 2008 Report Posted July 1, 2008 i use PVC/ABS found at home depot and have ALWAYS been a fan of them. i bust out my lil router round-over bit and the pipe is so thick i just run the bit around the inside and make it flared for no noise. The thickness of the pipe also makes it VERY solid, the issued i've had with ordered aeros are the durability, strength, and hassle of getting the Aeros on and off. i just never noticed enough of a difference to warrant me spending the extra money online really. my experience and .02 -Drew I am a United States Military Arts and Crafts Professional. audiofanaticz Posted July 1, 2008 Report Posted July 1, 2008 Ive used slot/vent ports, used pvc, and used aeros. I was kinda amazed by my aeros. aeros claim to gain a extra 3db if used properly (positioning of the ports). But it really comes down to properly tuning your box with the right port volume and freq. I really do not agree with the aero ports durability, strength, and hassle of getting the Aeros on and off. I had my 4 ports laying in my back hall for almost a month now, Ive been tripping over them when drunk, kicking them out the way, closing them in the door and prob even stepped on them at times. I just recently put them on my table. They are easy to install. I dont see whats so hard about screwing in/out 4 screws per port... Not to mention that if you glue the ports together like the installation instructions say too (and not duct tape them) they get so strong.
Derrick824 Posted July 1, 2008 Report Posted July 1, 2008 I'm doing high 51s w/ 2 15s & 3kwatts using aeros, banginAltima is doing mid 46s out of his trunk w/ 2 Kicker cvr 15s using aeros. Also look at Ben's pics from MECA show. A lot of loud setups using aeros. The #s speak for themselves. I'll leave it at that.

They had them in stock, and I wanted them now vs ordering them online and waiting. $30 per port I think, vs the $15 or whatever at partsexpress.com Now they are just laying around in my way :mad: I was gonna add you on myspace bslaps, but your security thing wouldnt let me.
